Financial Well-Being of your Employees

Research shows that there is a strong link between people’s financial circumstances and their overall financial well-being.  Worrying about money can result in a reduced ability to concentrate, loss of sleep, absenteeism and lower productivity at work.

Research from Citizens Advice in 2012  found “nearly 3 in 4 (74%) said debt worries were having an impact on their mental health. while more than 1 in 2 (54%) said their physical health was affected.  Of those having health problems, just over half had experienced a panic or anxiety attack (51%).  Almost 4 out of every 5 (79%) said they were losing sleep most nights because of debt. ”

Employees are unlikely to confide in their line manager about financial pressures or stress, but do value impartial support.  Employees do trust support provided by the employer more than other sources.  By bringing in a adviser, like Jay Financial, to provide 1-2-1 confidential advice for employees you can address some of the challenges they face in a positive way, which ultimately will benefit you too.

Jay Financial provides:

  • Educational presentations about retirement planning, budgeting, shopping discount schemes, saving;
  • Information packs for you to give to employees;
  • Annual meeting with you to discuss the Employee Benefit Schemes and the strategy and communication for the coming year;
  • Posters, leaflets, and communications including avoiding pension scams, making the most of your money, arranging your Will;
  • 1-2-1 sessions with staff, anything from 15 minutes to 1 hour depending on the size of your organisation and budget, where the employee can discuss any of the money worries, or get planning advice.
For a complimentary audit of your workplace pension scheme and to discuss financial education in the workplace please contact Jackie Fancourt, Jay Financial on 01283 761866 or email Jackie@jayfinancial.com

This is not a definitive list and not all of them have to be taken.  Most schemes have tax advantages and provide your employees with valuable benefits which will often save them money if they cancel their private arrangements.

All of these go beyond the immediate nature of pay and provide your employees with the peace of mind that they are covered should anything unfortunate happen, thereby allowing them to focus only on working for you.

Jay Financial can guide you through them to identify those that suit your needs.  Either email jackie@jayfinancial.com or phone 01283 761866.
